Dragon Ball Z : Resurrection F ドラゴンボールZ 復活の「F」2015- Japan

Dragon Ball Z : Resurrection F (ドラゴンボールZ 復活の「F」) is the 19th feature length film from the Dragon Ball Z universe. The film, released in 2015 at # 1 in the Japanese box office, even had a limited release in North American theatres thanks to Funimation. This was also the first Japanese film to ever be screened in IMAX 3D and 4DX theatres! As the second film released to set up viewers for the new series, Dragon Ball Super, in my opinion this film was much better than Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods.

Miss Granny 수상한 그녀 2014- South Korea

Miss Granny (수상한 그녀) is a South Korean comedy directed by Hwang Dong-Hyuk. Upon the time of its released, it enjoyed a very successful run, taking home many awards at film Festivals. It was so popular that the following years Chinese, Japanese, and Veitnamese remakes were created. This year Thai and Indonesian remakes are said to be released. This was such a sweet and enjoyable film to watch.

Miss Granny introduces us to 74 year old Oh Mal Su (Na Moon Hee), a granny with a tough exterior who happens upon a magical portrait studio that makes her regain the appearance of a 20 year old. She takes on the name Oh Doo-Ri played by Shim Eun Kyung. With the appearance of a young woman and the attire and hair of a Korean Ahjumma (Aunt/middle aged woman), comedy ensues as she tried to figure out how to start her new life without letting her family and friends know.

Seoul Searching 2015- U.S./South Korea

Seoul Searching is a film unlike any of the other films we review on this channel. Why you may ask? It has yet to be completely distributed in theatres. Directed by Benson Lee, a Korean-American filmmaker who was the creator behind Planet B-Boy, his newest film, Seoul Searching, made its debut as an official selection of the Cannes Film Festival and even went on to win the Audience Award at CAAMFEST. It was recently announced that the film will be breaking into 50 theatres in the U.S. and Canada this coming May. So, if you find this review enticing, make sure you check it out when it is released! I was very fortunate to see this film at the Dallas Asian Film Festival last year, where Director Lee was in attendance. Though this film is more of an American film than a South Korean film, with the amazing storyline, and how much this film deserves to be seen by everyone, It HAD to  be reviewed.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny 臥虎藏龍:青冥寶劍 2016- China/America

In 2000, Director Ang Lee brought America a surprising success with the Chinese epic, martial arts film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and now 16 years later a sequel has been born. Released exclusively through the streaming system Netflix, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (臥虎藏龍:青冥寶劍) has not been able to hold up next to its predecessor. With a completely new cast including Donnie Yen (Ip Man), Harry Shum Jr. (Glee) and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, the only familiar face is Michelle Yeoh who is reprising her role as Yu Shu Lein.
